Ringwood Mazda 2025 Season Review | East Ringwood

East Ringwood’s football department had a rollercoaster ride in 2025, while their netball sides established themselves as contenders once again.

East Ringwood’s senior men’s side had a Jekyll and Hyde season.

They came into the year with vengeance on their mind after Grand Final failure the season prior. They quickly got out to an eight-game winning streak, destroying South Croydon by 103 points in the opening round before decimating fellow undefeated side Blackburn in Round 6.

Ringwood Mazda 2025 Season Review | Waverley Blues

Both Waverley Blues sides showed signs of promise for the future yet ultimately failed to trouble the top teams throughout 2025.

Finals footy was just out of reach of the Waverley Blues in the 2025 Division Two competition.

The Blues showed promise at multiple stages of the season, but just as it looked like they were ready to take that next step and leap into the finals picture, they tripped and fell.

Eastland 2025 Season Review | Wantirna South

Both Wantirna South senior football sides made Grand Finals in 2025, with the senior men’s side set to return to Division One after a famous premiership.

Relegated to Division Two last season, the Devils started off their season 2-2 before going on a seven-game winning streak that put the league on notice. In a much-hyped Round 12 clash against Templestowe, however, they were far from their best, losing by 42 points.

Yarra Valley Water 2025 Season Review | Donvale

Yet another chance gone begging - premiership glory eluded Donvale’s senior men’s side in another Grand Final, whilst the Senior Women’s team went through a season of rebuilding.

A fourth Grand Final appearance in as many years, Donvale failed to earn promotion, losing by just two points.

With Surrey Park out of the picture in 2025, the Magpies went into the season as heavy premiership favourites. Starting off with five straight wins, the side’s first loss came in Round 6, when they lost to Silvan by one point.

Yarra Valley Water 2025 Season Review | Silvan

Silvan’s footballing program experienced a Jekyll-and-Hyde season, whilst their top netball side took out the premiership.

It was nearly impossible to get a read on Silvan’s senior men’s side in 2025.

The Cats made Silvan Recreation Reserve a fortress, winning eight out of a possible nine games at home. On the other hand, Silvan were winless on the road, owning a surprising 0-9 record with an average losing margin of 49 points.

Yarra Valley Water InFocus 2025 | South Croydon

South Croydon’s Premier Division women’s team were crowned premiers in 2024, whilst all other senior teams made finals – a feat they’ll look to repeat in 2025.

South Croydon are looking to build on an already strong foundation to go a couple of steps further in 2025.

Finishing fifth in 2024 and falling to Rowville in the Semi Final, the Bulldogs showed great improvement following an 0-2 start where the side lost by a combined 110 points.

Yarra Valley Water InFocus 2025 | Fairpark

Fairpark will look to leave their stamp on finals footy in 2025 after falling short in 2024.

The Fairpark Senior Men’s team finished last season in seventh place, finding themselves eight points adrift from finals.

Inconsistency in results saw the Lions finish with a 6-12 record. While they were able to compete with some of the teams above them, they also suffered losses to teams below them in the standings.

Leading the club into the 2025 season is Josh Allison. A player/assistant coach in 2024, the 294-gamer has hung up the boots and will now coach exclusively from the sidelines.

Yarra Valley Water InFocus 2025 | North Ringwood

North Ringwood are looking for a fresh start with a new senior men’s head coach. Whilst the senior women’s Division One side have their sights set on promotion, the Division Three side are focused on another year of progression.

As one door closes, another door opens – Robin Nahas’ departure from North Ringwood signals the start of the Matt Price era at Quambee Reserve.

The new senior head coach will take over a side that finished with a 5-13 record in 2024. Returning from a coaching break, Price’s last season in charge was a 2023 premiership-winning campaign at Dromana.

Yarra Valley Water InFocus 2025 | The Basin

The Basin’s senior men’s team prepare for a fresh start in 2025, as the senior women’s team look to further solidify themselves in Premier Division.

Following a winless 2024, The Basin will now turn their attention to their 2025 Division Three campaign.

The side struggled to field a consistent lineup throughout the season, which showed on the ladder.

The club have put their faith into last season’s leading goal kicker, Joel Perry. Operating in a player/coach capacity in 2024, the 332-gamer has now hung up the boots and will take charge exclusively from the sideline for the upcoming season.

Yarra Valley Water InFocus 2025 | Wantirna South

The Wantirna South senior men’s side prepare for new beginnings in 2025, as the senior women’s side look to continue making strides in their progression through the division.

Relegated for the first time since 2011, Wantirna South will play their football in Division Two.

Only managing one win in the previous season, head coach Jason Heffernan says that his players are still committed to coming back and working towards a common goal.

Yarra Valley Water InFocus 2025 | Oakleigh District

Oakleigh District will strive for more consistency as they look to return to finals footy in 2025.

Oakleigh District finished season 2024 in limbo – eight points clear of sixth and sixteen points below fourth. Starting off strongly, inconsistency saw the side fall away at the business end of the season, bowing out in the Elimination Final.

Blake Pearson will continue in his role as player/head coach for another season. He is already looking to the season ahead and mapping out a plan to take his side further into the finals.

Yarra Valley Water InFocus 2025 | Park Orchards

Coming off a strong 2024 season, Park Orchards are ready to go again. Their senior men’s side will look to go a step further and lift the cup, while the senior women’s side prepares for their first ever season in the Premier Division.

After coming agonisingly close to premiership glory and promotion in 2024, the Park Orchards senior men’s side will look to right their wrongs in 2025.

The Sharks ended the home-and-away season with only one loss before bowing out of the Grand Final to a strong Mitcham side. Despite the heartbreak of 2024, head coach Paris Harvie is looking forward to the season ahead.
